Traditional festivals

The Esslingen citizens enjoy celebrating. So who is surprised that during the year there are numerous events which have a long tradition. It starts in May with the Vineyard Walk (Weinwandertag), where one strolls through the vineyards, drinks wine and meets nice people. The Citizens' Festival (Bürgerfest) at the beginning of July is very popular, where for ten days, nine restaurant landlords prove their ability on the Market Square. Esslingen citizens and visitors alike meet each other and enjoy life. Film fans go to the Burg for the Open Air Film Festival. The highlight is the Esslingen Medieval Market and Christmas Market, where the Middle Ages come to life again
