Haven't you always wanted to swim in an Art Nouveau Swimming Pool? Or experience the largest Medieval Market in Southern Germany? If so, you are in the right place in Esslingen. Ambling  through the Old Town and discovering something new around every corner – that's how guests experience a shopping stroll in Esslingen. Many small, lovingly kept shops add to the range on offer at the large department stores. And in between there are lots of bars and restaurants where you can sit down and  relax – either inside or outside.

The medieval Old Town is an ideal backdrop for cultural events. In summer many of the festivals have a culinary theme: The Strawberry Festival (Erdbeerfest) in Küferstrasse, the Onion Festival (Zwiebelfest) with its main emphasis on regional cuisine or the Pumpkin Festival (Kürbisfest) at the weekly market. At the Citizens' Festival (Bürgerfest), citizens from all four corners of the globe meet to cook, eat and celebrate together.

In winter artists, craftsmen and tradesmen wearing fantastic costumes enchant the visitors on the Esslingen Medieval Market and Christmas Market and take them back into past times.

Those wanting to enjoy Esslingen's nightlife can do so in the DICK. In the factory built in the 19th century there are large cinemas, a variety of restaurants and bars and a maxi-disco waiting for night owls. And if you want to take the plunge, you can dive into Esslingen's  glass-clad diving tower.

The Merkel'sches Bad  (Swimming Pool) is ideal for relaxation. The Art Nouveau facilities offer swimming and spa pleasure with flair. And for conferences and cultural events Esslingen has one of the most modern congress centres in Germany, the Neckar Forum.
